What to do in an emergency

An emergency repair is something which cannot safely be left until normal working hours. The trades person who attends may may only make safe or undertake temporary repairs, in which case permanent repairs will be completed as soon as possible during normal working hours.

Gas leaks

If you smell gas inside or outside your home you should immediately phone Transco on 0800 111 999 at any time, day or night.

Emergency repairs (outside normal working hours)

Our emergency repair service deals with repairs outside normal working hours, for example:

• Total failure of electrical power and lights to just your home having checked your neighbours are not affected.
• Electric spark
• Bare wires
• Severely damaged or dangerous roof
• Uncontrollable water leaks
• Blocked toilet, if there is only one toilet in the property
• Blocked drain, if backing up
• Unsecured property
• Dangerous flooring or stairs
• Blocked chimney to an open fire

If you have lost your keys to the property, the cost of this visit may be recharged to yourself, including the cost of new keys, and/or any locksmith required.
